Crusoe

Crusoe is a US AI infrastructure company that describes itself as vertically integrated: it sources energy, builds and manages AI data centers it calls “AI factories”, and sells computing through its own platform, Crusoe Cloud.1 Its company timeline says it was founded in 2018 with technology to convert wasted natural gas into power for high-performance computing, made Crusoe Cloud generally available in 2024, and in 2025 sold its bitcoin mining business to NYDIG to focus only on AI infrastructure.1 It says it has over 40 GW of energy projects in development.2

Its flagship build is the Abilene, Texas campus it develops for Oracle, the first Stargate site. Crusoe says construction began in June 2024, the first two buildings were energized within a year, and the first phase was running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure by September 30, 2025.3 Oracle’s 2025 fact sheet names Crusoe as the site’s development partner.4 Epoch AI estimates that the four operational buildings have 421 MW of IT power, or 590 MW including cooling and other overhead, which ranks the campus seventh in Largest AI Data Centers by Estimated Power Draw (October 2026).56 Epoch projects all eight buildings running around November 1, 2026; Crusoe’s own March 2026 target for the 1.2 GW campus was the end of 2026, a schedule Stargate's Sites: Operating vs Under Construction vs Planned follows.67 The same March release announced a separate 900 MW campus next door to support Microsoft: two buildings designed for 336 MW of critical IT load each, with an on-site power plant, the first expected to be energized in mid-2027, taking the whole Abilene site to a projected 2.1 GW.7 Crusoe is also the developer of Google’s campus in Armstrong County, Texas, where it says construction broke ground in June 2025.8
