Stargate Abilene

Stargate Abilene is an AI data center campus in Abilene, Texas, and the first of the planned sites of Stargate, OpenAI’s AI infrastructure program with Oracle; Epoch AI lists SoftBank, OpenAI and Oracle as its investors.13 Crusoe develops the campus for Oracle, and Epoch lists Oracle as the owner of the AI chips and OpenAI as their user, estimating that the chips are Nvidia B200 and B300.136 Crusoe says construction began in June 2024 on a planned eight-building campus; Oracle’s September 2025 fact sheet describes eight buildings on 1,100 acres, with up to about 4 million square feet.46 Oracle began delivering the first Nvidia GB200 racks in June 2025, and Crusoe announced on September 30, 2025 that the first phase was running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.4

Operational: Epoch dates building 1 to around September 26, 2025, building 2 to around December 24, 2025, and buildings 3 and 4 to around May 23, 2026, a month after Oracle posted that 200 MW was operational. For those four buildings it estimates 421 MW of IT power and 590 MW of total facility power.2 That ranks the campus seventh in Largest AI Data Centers by Estimated Power Draw (October 2026). Under construction: Epoch’s July 28, 2026 note found buildings 5 to 8 structurally complete and roofed, with fit-out under way, and it projects all eight operating around November 1, 2026, at 843 MW of IT power and 1,180 MW of facility power.2 The target has moved: Oracle’s 2025 fact sheet expected the remaining buildings in mid-2026, and Crusoe’s March 2026 release put completion of the 1.2 GW campus at the end of 2026, as Stargate's Sites: Operating vs Under Construction vs Planned sets out.65 The 900 MW campus Crusoe announced next door in March 2026, to support Microsoft, is a separate project and isn’t counted here.5
