Amazon

Amazon.com, Inc., headquartered in Seattle, Washington, builds AI infrastructure through Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud business it launched in 2006.1,2 AWS designs its own AI chips under the Trainium name. Trainium3, which AWS calls its fourth-generation AI chip and its first built on a 3nm process, became generally available in Amazon EC2 Trn3 UltraServers on December 2, 2025; AWS states 144 GB of HBM3e and 4.9 TB/s of memory bandwidth per chip, and up to 144 chips per UltraServer.3,4 Its largest AI build is Project Rainier, a cluster that Amazon says holds nearly half a million Trainium2 chips and that its partner Anthropic uses to build and deploy its Claude models; Amazon names St. Joseph County, Indiana, as one of the project's sites.5

That Indiana site is the Anthropic-Amazon campus in New Carlisle, which ranks 2nd in Largest AI Data Centers by Estimated Power Draw (October 2026) at an estimated 910 MW of IT power on Amazon Trainium2 chips; Epoch AI projects it will reach 1,925 MW by Q1 2028. The same table ranks the Amazon Madison Mega Site in Mississippi 13th at an estimated 284 MW, a site Epoch links to Project Rainier only speculatively.6,7 In AI Accelerators With the Most HBM per Chip (October 2026), Trainium3 ranks 12th by HBM per chip.3 Amazon.com, Inc. is also one of the eight US-headquartered companies listed in the July 2026 export-control rule for the United Arab Emirates, as How US AI Chip Export Controls Work (as of October 2026) explains.8
